Exceeding Expectations
The educational programs at Spark STEAM Academy were created with our children’s needs in mind: to mature and develop in a safe yet stimulating environment. Take a look below to learn more about each program.

Curriculum Theory
At Spark STEAM Academy, we see young children as capable, competent, and full of wonder. We give them the respect they deserve by creating an environment which encourages questioning and by helping them to discover their own answers. We recognize that each child is an individual, with strengths, interests, and opportunities for growth. Our teachers take the time to get to know each child, enabling us to individualize the learning opportunities we provide. We support their natural curiosity, helping them become lifelong learners and out of the box thinkers.
Our curriculum is designed to support and nurture our children’s developmental needs with emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) and is inspired by numerous research-based theories of early childhood development and education and Creative Curriculum.

Sunbeams
(6wks. -12mths.)
Our infant program is designed to provide a warm, nurturing environment. We fill each day with opportunities to develop fine and gross motor skills through multi-sensory activities. Your infant will be cuddled, rocked, sung to, and talked to in our Sunbeams Room. We encourage your infant to learn by using all their senses. We also believe that music is very vital to the stimulating growth and development of our infants. Educational activities featuring an assortment of sound and texture toys and materials are provided for their overall well-being and growth. Our teachers work closely with parents to develop an appropriate eating and sleep schedule to ensure your baby’s health and developmental needs are met.

The Cubs
(12mths. -24mths.)
Our toddler 1 program is professionally designed to provide a warm, comforting environment where educators are passionate about helping our toddlers develop academically, emotionally and socially. We recognize that our toddlers are a curious bunch and they are busy exploring the world around them. We recognize that their instinct is to discover how the great big world works, so we provide abundant opportunity for active toddlers to utilize their senses to explore their surroundings. The activities stimulate creativity and foster exploration, while promoting active participation and interaction with others in the classroom.
Early Explorers
(Toddler 2)
The toddler 2 program focuses on teaching children to meet their individual interests and needs while also interacting successfully as part of a group. In their classrooms, toddler 2’s experiment with art materials, choose from activity centers, STEAM projects, and more. Our curriculum goal strives to help children develop self-esteem, motor skills, creativity, self-mastery, and autonomy. Our lesson plans are designed to aid the child with gradual separation, and developing skills in language and communication, socialization, logical and sequential thinking, literacy, and mathematical concepts.

Jr. Sprouts
(Pre-School 3yrs.-4yrs.)
Our Pre-School program enhances preschoolers’ confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. The class focuses on supporting the 3 and 4 year olds increased independence along with their desire to work and play with others. Every day, children have the opportunity to engage in playful and hands-on experiences that support a child’s curiosity as they engage in art, dramatic play, block exploration, science investigation, games, and more. Through these daily experiences, the children build their language, their cognition, and their relationships with others. Daily experiences are created so that children can construct their own understanding of the world, talk about their understanding of the world with peers and teachers, and practice this understanding in small groups as they look at focused strategies in early literacy and STEAM.

Tiny Techs
(Pre-School 3yrs.-4yrs.)
Our Pre-K program is designed to boost school readiness by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands on learning. Children work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. Our Tiny Techs will solve more complex problems, play creatively, and learn how to take care of their own basic needs.
We understand the importance of helping children develop a positive self-concept by increasing their independence. Children in the Pre- Kindergarten class are given age-appropriate responsibilities such as setting the table for meals and serving their own food, helping prepare their items for rest time, maintaining the classroom environment, and taking care of classroom pets.
